This Mahindra Bolero ‘Limited Edition’ can actually scare kids!
The Mahindra Bolero is among those few vehicles which have stood the test of time. First launched in 2000, it was based on the Armada platform and featured a similar design theme.
The Bolero became a big hit because of its frugal running costs, affordable price tag and rugged nature. It is especially popular in rural and suburban areas where roads are always broken and vehicles need to go through unpaved routes. The Mahindra Bolero is not exactly a mod favorite vehicle but we have seen some good examples across the country. However, this one below is not what can be said to be a very nice specimen of a Bolero mod.
Moreover, it has been done by Mahindra’s own modification arm, called Mahindra Customization. This also means that this modified Bolero is completely legal and the recent Supreme Court order does not deem it as illegal. This is because the whole modification is being done by the manufacturer only and all the changes will be mentioned on the RC of the vehicle. However, we doubt if Mahindra did a second glance over this modification kit after creating it.
Talking about the changes made on the SUV, the front is dominated by huge gaping grille. It seems to extend down to the custom blacked out bumper. We are not sure why but the front fascia does not inspire confidence when looking at it. The whole car has been finished in black including the front and rear bumper. LED DRLs have been placed over the headlights. The bonnet has been given a muscular treatment and is fitted with a bonnet scoop.
The Bolero comes powered by a 1.5 liter-3 cylinder twin scroll turbocharger equipped unit that produces 70 Bhp of peak power and 195 Nm of peak torque. There is another 2.5 liter M2DICR turbocharged diesel engine available with 63 Bhp of peak power and 180 Nm of peak torque. Both engines use 5 speed manual gearboxes as standard.
Overall, the modification done is quite good. However, that front gaping grille is something that may catch you off the guard if you stare at it suddenly. A little retouch to the front fascia and we bet this Bolero mod by Mahindra Customization will be on par with any other Bolero modification across the country.
